2016 APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE!
Thank you for your interest in Oakland High School's International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. The IB program is funded by Rutherford County Schools and ALL qualifying students in Rutherford County are encouraged to apply. Interested students are advised to apply to the IB program in the spring of their 8th grade year in order to take part in the OHS Pre-IB courses during the freshman and sophomore years. If a student must transfer during any given school year, the student and family must speak directly with Ms. Clark to ensure that all requirements are met prior to any consideration of transfer. Steps to be completed prior to acceptance:
- Complete the application and submit via fax, email, or mail to Carissa Clark, IB Coordinator at Oakland High School.
- If all criteria for admission have been met, the student will receive a letter of acceptance. Note: Letters will also be sent to notify students in the event that they are not accepted
- A zone waiver must be completed for those living outside of the Oakland High School zone. Zone waivers for the IB program are now available here. Zone exemptions must be submitted to central office by April 15, 2016. It is not necessary for students living within the OHS zone to complete a waiver. Additional details regarding the waiver process will be provided on the student's letter of acceptance.
- Following receipt of all materials and zone waivers, if applicable, please make an appointment to enroll/register for the upcoming school year! Contact the Oakland High School guidance department at 615-904-3780 extension 23911 to schedule your appointment.
